Nankaishima is one of the four continents on Nakatsuchi, located to the south-east of Nakasu. It is surrounded by the Tōyō Ocean to the west and north, the Daiyō Ocean to the east and the Nankai Ocean to the south. Lying directly to the north-west and geographically considered a part of the Nankaishima continent is the smaller island of Easterlands.
At roughly 8,600,000 square kilometres, Nankaishima is the smallest continent on Nakatsuchi. Nankaishima is the home of the Hakujin race, descended from the first humans to migrate to the area approximately 800,000 years ago.
The Nankaishima mainland is entirely occupied by the United Republics of Fuso, with the Easterlands controlled by the Easterlands Federation. Asturias is located off the north coast of Easterlands.
